Extensions

Whether you are looking to add pops of color, increase volume, blend hair loss or want a whole new look, we will work together to create a completely customized and unforgettable experience for you!

There are two things I like to prioritize with every install....the health of your natural hair and extensions that are undetectable.

Ready to get started on a life changing transformation?

Take a look at which extension package seems right for you. Don’t worry about the application method quite yet, that will be selected based on your hair and needs. However, if you’re interested in a specific method (I offer hand-tied, kTip, iTip (microbead), combline and tape-ins) feel free to let me know! Once you know which packages interests you, book your consultation and color match appointment below.

FAQ

Would extensions be right for me?

Here’s my favorite thing about extensions - there is an option for nearly everyone, and every hair type! Apart from the obvious (and very popular) mermaid hair options, extensions can be utilized to enhance your color by adding to your highlights, or you could even add a pop of fun color, without the dye commitment.

You can thicken your fine hair, by matching your existing length and adding in a small number of extensions to create fullness. Or, if you’ve experienced prior breakage, we can always add in a few small pieces where they’re needed, in order to cover those thinner spots.

How long do extensions last?

The hair you purchase will actually last for up to a year, or potentially even longer! Depending on how you care for the hair, your hair can last anywhere within that time frame.

Being that your natural hair will grow, you’ll need to visit the salon to have your extensions moved up every 6-8 weeks (or even up to 5 months for some techniques), depending on the installation method we choose to use.

What is the cost?

As with all things beauty and hair, the cost for extensions varies depending on the method chosen, and the amount of hair that is needed to achieve your desired look. For example, if you’re wanting just to add a bit of volume to your current style, that’s a drastically different cost than a rapunzel-esque transformation.

As a general rule of thumb, first installation appointments typically start as low as $400 (for adding thickness to medium length hair), or increase to $2,500 for a full “mermaid effect.”

From there, maintenance and move up appointments usually range from $200-500, depending on the amount of hair you utilize.

Do you offer payment plans?

I know extensions are both a commitment and an investment. However, I always strive to offer services that are as accessible as possible. This is why I am so proud to annouce that I am now offering payment plans on any services over $550. Simply let me know that you’d like to utilize this payment option and we will get you all set up.

What am I going to need?

If you're like me then you like to be prepared ahead of time.  In order to protect your natural hair and maintain your extensions for as long as possible there are a few products that you're going to need.  But, don't worry, I've already done the research for you!  Click here for a list of all of my extension must-haves!  Bonus: links to the products on amazon are included to make your prep work as easy as possible.

How do I best maintain my new hair?

Gentleness is key! Keeping in mind that the extension’s hair is attached to your real hair, you want to make sure you handle your extensions with delicacy. For a few quick recommendations:

  • Brush from the bottom of your hair, first, and hold your hair where it is attached near your root while brushing. This will help to anchor your hair, without ending up with that unintentional hairbrush yank. You know the one.

  • Sleep with your hair loosely braided (on a silk or satin pillowcase, if possible), to reduce tangling and pulling.

  • Be sure to use only high-quality products to maintain the integrity of the hair. I’ll always send you off with product recommendations for your new extensions!

What is the maintence cost?

This varies depending on extension type.

Wefts: Move up appointments are between 4-8 weeks. Mini move ups can often be done for about $80/ row. Every few appointments a full move up is required at $200/1st row & $180/additional rows. The hair itself lasts approximately a year depending greatly on at home care.

Tape-Ins or Microbead (iTip): Move up appointments are between 4-6 weeks. For “spot treatment” applications, move up costs can be as low as $90. For a full head of extensions that take multiple hours to move up the cost can increase up to $525. The hair itself lasts approximately a year depending greatly on at home care.

KTip: Ktips typically last 3-5 months. No move ups are required during this time, although coming in for a blowout or two in between is recommended so that I can take a look at the extensions and ensure nothing is tangling, pulling, etc. At the 3-5 month mark the hair is removed and fully replaced if desired. Typically the micro kTips are at the smaller end of this time frame and the full size are at the larger end of the time frame.

Combline: Combline extensions typically last 4-6 weeks No maintence is required in between. The hair can be removed if desired, but typically falls out on it’s own.
